Abstract

For decades the significance of physical activity for personality development issues has been investigated by sports scientists. A great range of research study findings have been reported by scholars on the connection between physical activity and child development, but they are based on diverse approaches and use research methods which are completely different from others and therefore cannot be compared. Likewise, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the relations between physical exercise and personality development are more complicated than presumed by many. For instance motor functions and processes on the one hand and personality traits on the other hand show specific developments, for example those related to sex, that need to be distinguished. Stability also plays a different role depending on the particular course of development. This survey aims to analyse the various relations and correlations between motor function ability and some aspects of personality development in preschool-aged children. Einleitung
