Abstract

Steps are the base of sports ballroom dances. All of them differ in the range, direction, speed and various combinations of alternative and multidirectional body unit movements. All the variety is necessary for realization in strict space and time parameters, within the limits of the rhythmic pattern of the dance performed. No matter what steps are used in dance programs, shifting body weight from one leg onto another lays its basis. Despite the apparent simplicity it is a rather complicated motor action. In single performance steps can fail to provoke excessive complicacy in performance, whereas in a pair certain difficulties arise, which and the reasons of arising of which are to be familiar to them. While the faults are not Iiquidated dance couple never acquires flexibility and plasticity of existing dancers, grace of the unified mechanism. The purpose of the present research was to study stabilographic characteristics of making a pair time-step in athletes of different qualifications. The researches promoted allocation of essential differences in the character of balancing and motor coordination in athletes of various qualifications. In the group of elite dancers while making a "time-step" the range of fluctuations of gravity center of the couple in the frontal and saggital directions is lower with eyes closed and open. The average linear speed in qualified dancers decreased while closing eyes, in the group of beginners, it increased. The latter is correlated with decrease of the role of visual analyzer in motor coordination of dance couple with growth of qualification. The character of stabilographic indices of deviation of the general gravity centre may be used in making a pair "time-step" to estimate the level of special motor preparedness in sports dances.
