Abstract des Autors

In order to investigate the influence of different types of physical training on blood rheology, we studied blood fluidity of athletes of specific disciplines. Plasma viscosity, red cell flexibility, and red cell aggregation were quantified by capillary viscometry, red cell filtration technique, and transparent cone aggregometry. The subjects were members of the national top level in rowing and canoeing, and regional top level in cycling and long-distance running. Blood fluidity of the athletes of different disciplines were significantly distinguished. Beyond that, we found a significant correlation between performance and rheological values. Our results indicate the possibility of modifying blood fluidity in a specific way through different kinds of physical training. Verf.-Referat
