Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the hematologic state of 13 freestyle and 27 greco-roman wrestlers before the European Championships. Their diet was found to be well balanced according to recommended values. Toward the end of their active training, blood hemoglobin, hematocrit, iron, iron saturation level and attachment capacity and ferritin levels of the wrestler was determined. When these parameters were compared with standard values, it was noticed that hemoglobin, hematocrit, plasma iron, saturation and especially plasma ferritin were close to the risk level. However plasma iron attachment capacity reached the maximum level. Verf.-Referat
