Abstract des Autors
Erythrocyte count (EC), hematocrit (hct), hemoglobin (Hb), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), serum iron (S Fe), total iron binding capacity (TDBK), percent transferrin saturation (TS), ferritin and indirect VO2max values were determined in seventeen players of a second league soccer team. All the players had normal values for the EC, hct, Hb and MCV. S Fe, TS% and ferritin levels were found low in two, one and three players, respectively. After hematologic examination, five players were diagnosed as having iron deficiency without anemia. Average aerobic capacity was lower than that of the expected value. Statistically, there was no significant relationship between aerobic capacity and iron metabolism parameters. Verf.-Referat
