Abstract des Autors
Insufficient physical activity is considered to be one of the 10 most important risk factor for premature death and is associated with increased relative risk for total mortality by 20-30%. In contrast the preventive impact of regular physical activity is well known. Meta-analysis have demonstrated regular physical activity to be associated with a reduced relative risk for total mortality (-22–36 %), for cardiovascular mortality (-27–35 %) and CAD-incidence/mortality (-26–27 %) as compared with inactivity. The secondary preventive role of regular physical activity in CAD-patients is not as well established. Few smaller cohort studies show regular physical activity as compared to inactivity to be associated with a relative risk reduction for total mortality (-19–58 %) and cardiovascular morbidity and or mortality (-20–62 %). These results demonstrate the impact of regular physical activity in seconder prevention in CAD-Patients and its possible prognostic value in these patients. In conclusion these results emphasise the importance of comprehensive guidance for regular physical activity in primary as well as secondary prevention.
