Abstract
In six chapters the author gives an analysis of the coverage of the topic philosophy of sport as it relates to major issues of sport pedagogy in the sport science literature, published in German language. After an introduction follows a shot coverage at the history of philosophy of sport in Germany. Furthermore the relationship of sport philosophy to sports medicine, sport pedagogy, anthropology, ethics and aesthetics is covered. The relationship between general philosophy and philosophy of sport is also analyzed as well as explicit studies in regard to the essence of sport.
