Abstract
One common goal we share as personal trainers is to educate our clients and ourselves on the topics of health and fitness. We are constantly bombarded with so-called research from magazines, newspapers, television, the internet, radio, and other media, so how do we know what is reputable research and what isn’t? How do we respond when clients challenge us an the basis of what they heard, saw, or read? Knowing how to interpret research is essential to maintaining our reputation as professionals. Ideally, taking a research methods class at a local university is the best way to know how to understand research. Realistically, that may not be an option. Answering the following questions will help you keep up to date by deciphering research and revealing enough to turn in a verdict. Textauszug
