Today physical culture and sport are getting especially important in conditions of social modernization and development of innovative technologies. First of all it is due to the increase of their social role and transformation of the economic and political life of the country into an independent unit. Winning the right of hosting in Russia such prestigious sport events like the Olympic Winter Games-2014 in Sochi, the World Summer Student Games 2013 and the World Aquatics Championship 2015 in Kazan, the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, lce Hockey World Championship 2017, the FIFA World Cup 2018, has given a strong impetus to the development and modernization of the regional infrastructure in the country. Student Games are comprehensive international sports competitions held by the International Student Sports Federation (FISU) among students around the world. The Idea of Student Games in Kazan arose after a number of large-scale international sports events held in the town at a sufficiently high level, brilliant victories of our professionals in Russian and international competitions. Student games-2013 in Kazan are the first international multi-sport event in Russia after the Olympic games in 1980 in Moscow. Such large-scale events, on the one hand, need all resources to be concentrated, such as: material, organizational, intellectual, and on the other hand, provide a unique opportunity to develop the entire town infrastructure, economy, training, education, culture and student sport. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect from the XXVlI World Summer Student Games on the regional development. Student Games has become a powerful impetus to leading healthy way of life and modernization of the entire system of physical culture and sport. Verf.-Referat
