Abstract des Autors

In the present study, we examine perceived health and its relation to physical activity in the group of 212 Czech seniors. We found a significant relationship between the participation in strenuous and moderate physical activity and perceived health (r = 0.19–0.50) but we did not find any relationship between mild physical activity and perceived health. The participants who met the levels of physical activity recommended by WHO indicated significantly better perceived health than the less active participants. The participation in physical activity was relatively low: 64% of respondents did not meet the recommended levels of physical activity, 77% did not participate in any strenuous physical activity and 47% did not participated in any moderate physical activity. The physical activity of respondents stemmed mostly from everyday activities, such as walking, gardening or working around the house. Verf.-Referat
