Abstract

In recent years, strength proficiency diagnostics with elite rowers has been used for test series on the rowing ergometer to identify conditional or technical qualities in preparation for the competition. The Concept 2 Dyno Strength Training System instrumented with sensor technology is another effective tool to gain a highly differentiated diagnosis of the strength conditions of arms and legs in the rowing-specific motion. The system is able to test the strength of arm-pull and leg-press for the right- and left-hand side of the body in a dynamic way. A rowing-specific strength testing exercise was chosen to measure the maximum power in the drive phase and the partial maximum strength features of the rowing-specific main muscle groups of legs, arms and the trunk on a rowing ergometer and the Dyno. The comparability of both systems on the basis of muscular activity patterns had to be proven. Einleitung
