Abstract

This article focuses on the subject of psychological-sociological foundations of sport pedagogy in recent journals in German-speaking countries between 2007 and 2008. The three academic disciplines pedagogy, psychology, and sociology have often been named as a group of social-behavioural-educational sciences. This point of view suggests that these disciplines have, from a more general point of view, a common subject, or that the different subjects of these three disciplines have important common features. It is the author's belief that these three disciplines are interlinked at different levels, but because of different publication cultures and different foci on the same, or on different, subjects it is difficult to find such links explicitly in articles in recent German-speaking sports science journals. Furthermore, one has to define topics which are of relevance and interest for psychological-sociological foundations of sport pedagogy. Thus, this paper has set as its task not only to review the literature in recent journals in German-speaking countries, but also to suggest and inspire a more integrative view between sociology, psychology and pedagogy. To provide an overview, the topics of communication in sports clubs, the socio-cultural side of behaviour and emotions in sport, links between neuroscience and sport pedagogy, motor learning in school, body feeling and body perception have proven to be appropriate. On the one hand, these topics were selected as their contents relate to psychological-sociological foundations of sport pedagogy, and on the other, they are a result of the bandwidth they typically cover.
