Abstract

Der Sammelband gibt einen detaillierten Überblick über die im Sport verwendeten Dopingmittel und erläutert jeweils die Wirkstoffe, deren Wirkung und deren Nachweisverfahren in der Dopinganalytik. Daneben enthält der Band Beiträge zu Themen wie der historischen Entwicklung des Dopings, den biochemischen, physiologischen und labortechnischen Grundlagen, den medizinisch relevanten Nebenwirkungen des Dopings, veterinärmedizinische Themen und sportrechtliche Strukturen der Dopingbekämpfung. Doping in sports and the fight against it has gained increasing attention in recent years. The pharmacological basis for a possible performance enhancement in competitive sport through the administration of prohibited substances and methods as well as the analytical disclosure of such practices are comprehensively covered in 21 contributions by outstanding and distinctive authors.
