Abstract des Autors

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between lactate behavior as a metabolic indicator and chronotropic cardiac control as a vegetative indicator during physical work. The significance of heart rate pattern in the diagnosis of overtraining was also investigated. Six canoeists took part in a training over several months. There was a decrease in 0.1 Hz and 0.25 Hz rhythmicity during physical work in the course of 4 months consistent performance on a crank handle ergometer. The analysis of heart rate pattern supplies additional information which exceeds the simple examination of physical performance. Changes in the vegetative state which are manifested in the chronotropic control of the heart can be sensitively identified and drawn upon for the appraisal of the individual's psychophysical state.
