Abstract des Autors

In the years 1983-1989, 42 patients with a fresh isolated tear of the anterior cruciate ligament were conservatively treated in the University-Hospital for Orthopedic Surgery. Follow-up examination in 35 patients was on average 3 years after arthroscopy; 24 patients had a complete and 11 patients had a partial tear of the ACL. The examination was based on subjective scores (Lysholm and O'Donoghue score) and objective examination results (objective O'Donoghue score) and enforcement of Lachmann test and pivot-shift sign. The average points with Lysholm score was 87 for the partial tears and 75 for complete ACL tears. Of 35 patients, there were 17 times a positive pivot-shift sign and 29 times a positive Lachmann test. The reoperation rate was low for the partial tears (3) and high for the complete tears (13). We recommend operative treatment for the complete isolated ACL tears and conservative treatment for the partial isolated ACL tears. Verf.-Referat
