Im Falle einer angemessenen Behandlung koennen Asthmatiker fast alle Sportarten ausueben und sogar das Leistungsniveau Olympischer Spiele und Weltmeisterschaften erreichen. Verf. erlaeutert verschiedene Asthmaformen und die moeglichen Medikationen unter Beruecksichtigung der Dopingbestimmungen. Insbesondere wird auf das belastungsinduzierte Asthma eingegangen, unter dem etwa jeder dritte internationale Ruderer schon einmal gelitten hat. In den Empfehlungen zur Trainingsgestaltung und zu allgemeinen Vorsorgemassnahmen appeliert Verf. vor allem auch an die Eigenverantwortlichkeit des Athleten. ( Rotter) |
