Abstract des Autors

In association with institutions financing cardiac rehabilitation, a pilot program on ambulatory cardiac rehabilitation has been carried through at the German Sports University, Cologne since January 1992. The program is projected until 1995 and is under permanent scientific supervision. Patients at low risk and below 65 years of age are eligible for the program subsequent to treatment of a recent myocardial infarction or PTCA-procedure in hospital. The objective of this program is to obtain information concerning the need for such an ambulatory rehabilitation program, its optimal design and its benefits, risks and costs. This is a preliminary report on the previous 18 months. Definite results will not be available before 1995. Verf.-Referat
