Abstract des Autors

A small reflection photometer - Accusport (Boehringer Mannheim) - has been developed to make it possible to determine lactate in capillary blood using a test strip (BM lactate). The results can be displayed as blood- or plasma-based values. The measurement range is 0.8 - 22 mmol/l in blood and 0.7 - 26 mmol/l in plasma. For an evaluation of Accusport blood samples were drawn simultaneously from both hyperemized ear lobes of volunteers and analysed with BM-lactate test strips, the enzymatic method Test-Combination Lactate for Sports Medicine (TCL) and using the standard method of the institute concerned. The resulting regression lines were: y = 0.003 + 0.956 x (n = 446) (for plasma) and y = 0.033 + 1.001 x (n = 329) (for blood). The results show that the values obtained when using Accusport agree well with values from TCL from capillary plasma and with lactate values obtained by various laboratory methods from capillary blood.
