About a period of ten years we have investigated the sports injuries of the pupils in the Saarland. We have found between 11953 and 13620 accidents per year. On an average, 38.6% of the school accidents happen in sports. In the last year of investigation (1986), the percentage was 40.3%. The most injuries happen in gymnastics, volleyball and basketball. Among them are heavy injuries like fractures of the hip or ruptures of the ACL of the knee. Verf.-Referat
