Abstract des Autors

We studied the changes of filling and relaxation patterns of the left ventricle during exercise (by use of a computer-assisted instantaneous analysis from m-mode-echocardiograms). M-mode-echocardiograms of 10 well trained athletes' records at rest and during supine ergometry were analysed. The relative time interval during isovolumetric relaxation-period changed from 7.8 +/- 3.6 to 20.3 +/- 7.3%, during rapid and slow filling phase from 65.3 +/- 7.9 to 16.8 +/- 10.2%, during atrial systole from 26.9 +/- 6.8 to 63.3 +/- 5.9% in the first minute of exercise. Compared to control group of 9 healthy persons the differences were more pronounced in the study group which reveals a better filling and relaxation pattern of the left ventricle in the athlete's heart.
