Abstract des Autors
In white-water canoeing the upper body muscles as well as the muscles of the upper extremities are used dynamically during cyclic and acyclic alternating movements; the lower extremities take over static work. The present experiment was designed to study the energy demand and performance during white-water-canoeing and its dependance on conditional and technical-coordinative preconditions of subjects which were generally or specifically trained. The relation of load (measured in time/distance or paddling curves and turns, stops and accelerations) to demand allows to draw conclusions about general performance ability as well as about the canoe-specific technical coordination level of performance.
