Abstract des Autors

The chronotropic nervous control of the heart is analysed during different phases of a 9 months program of training and competition. 12 male canoeists are examined during relaxed rest in comparison with the lactate levels development under physical work at a crank handle ergometer. During the program mean heart rate at rest increases indicating enhanced sympathetic tone. The most distinct change is a decrease in heart rate rhythmicity. After the end of the competition period heart rate dynamics approach to the pre-training values without corresponding changes in work capacity as measured by lactate production. We conclude that the analysis of heart rate rhythmicity represents a sensitive method to obtain information about the neurovegetative state. Verf.-Referat
