| abstract |
Physiological and pathophysiological aspects of the vegetative functional state are presented. To characterize the vegetative function the heart period time series (HPD) are measured and calculated in the time (mean HPD, HPD variability) and frequency domain (peripheral blood flow, blood pressure, respiration). The parameters give valid information about the actual relation between the parasympathetic and the sympathetic activity as markers of adaptation, work related activity, and recovery. Verf.-Referat |
