Abstract des Autors
Sports and recreational activities cause many eye injuries each year, but most of these injuries could be prevented through the use of adequate eye wear. Protective equipment has virtually eliminated eye injuries in organized hockey, but baseball, basketball, and racket sport injuries continue to exact a high toll. When eye trauma does occur, a thorough, five-step first aid examination and appropriate treatment or referral can prevent long-term damage. Verf.-Referat
