Abstract

Based on experience and the theory of classification of sports, a hypothesis of directional psychological precocity (DPP) in elite female juvenile majored in exhibition sports of high difficulty and graceful movements was raised. After psychological testing and on-the-sport observation, it was concluded that compared with juveniles of other sports, those engaged in exhibition sports revealed more obvious traits of DPP, such as courage, sensitivity, will-power, and emotional calmness, etc. The causes of the formation of DPP are chiefly experiences of early specialized training hardening oneself by thrilling and risky exercises, moulding through artistic feats, experiences of repeated failures, inspiration of self-competition and influences from adult athletes.
