Abstract des Autors

The scarcity of significant correlations between the different anthropometric, strength and anaerobic tests with the landing ability indicated that the predictive variables did not account for the variability in the landing variables. The purpose of the present study was to analyze some mechanical characteristics of landing from different heights and their relationships to some fitness and motor tests. Twelve male and 12 female children aged 8 to 11 were the subjects for this study. A definite pattern was found as to the relationships between age, height and weight with the landing variables. Some significant correlations were found between the landing variables from 0.40 and 0.60 m and the results of the Standing Triple Jump. This jumping test can be characterized by a combination of explosive strength and a higher level of coordination than that required for the vertical jump of the 30 m run. The scarcity of significant correlation between the different fitness and motor tests with landing ability, as measured in this study, indicate that the predictive variables do not account for the variability in the landing variables.
