Abstract

Although the undeniable progress made in the sports cardiology with the polygraphy, the echocardiography and with the stress testing, it remains justified the attempt to catch, on the sports ground, the physiological data implicated. The introduction of the ECG monitoring during sports activity withthe radioelemetry and afterwards with the Holter recording must be seen in this way. The characteristics of the telemetry recording are compatible, if not preferable, in many disciplines. The Holter possibilities are more suitable for other disciplines. The technical problems related to the monitoring during the competition or during the training are described. The relief of the H. R. during the performance is the basic parameter. The informations on possible arrythmia are useful. The ST-T analysis difficulties are discussed. The indications for the Holter application that can be now outlinedin the sport are valuated. On the basis of the experience with Siretape C Siemens, the authors characterize 3 groups of different specialities with the ECG recordings: 1) feasible; 2) difficult; 3) impossible. Finally, the authorspresent problems related to organisations, costs, peoples selection and technical innovations to be made for a suitable use of this method in the sporting activity.
