Zusammenfassung

Background: International guidelines have shown that patients with spinal cord injuries have sensitive and motor impairments, however there is some gaps regarding the evaluation of these patients in the hospital setting. Objectives: To evaluate sensitive and motor deficits in patients with spinal cord injuries in an emergency hospital. Methods: We have performed a cross-sectional study in 14 patients with spinal cord injury that were admitted to a hospital. We assessed the tactile, thermic, painful, kinesthetic and proprioceptive sensations as well as mobility and tone measured by the ASIA Frenkel and scales. Results: Statistical significance was observed for the variables: tactile, thermic, painful, kinesthetic and proprioceptive sensations and upper limb tone. The disability levels measured by the frenkel were classified as B and the ASIA score was 128 (± 40.1) points. Conclusion: The normal levels of participants presented motor and sensibility for the upper limbs, but not for the lower limbs.
