Abstract des Autors
This chapter investigates the impact of COVID-19 on sport betting markets and the mental health of those involved in sports betting. Given the wider discussion about the impact of the pandemic on mental health and the negative consequences of lockdowns and social distancing on people’s mental well-being, the chapter focuses on a complex but critical issue for the global sporting community. The chapter also scrutinises the available sports betting data from the start of the pandemic and looks at the impact on bookmaker revenue.
