Abstract des Autors

Goal: To evaluate pain relief effect of single procedure of chinese massage and acupuncture in patients with chronic neck pain syndrome. Materials and methods: 29 patients with chronic neck pain and shoulder pain, randomly divided in 2 groups of 15 and 14 patients. Neck pain in rest and shoulder pain at active range of motion (AROM) were evaluated. The first group (control) got conventional manual therapy procedure and the second (experimental) got chinese massage in cervical area, shoulder and upper extremity and acupuncture in two varieties according to observed syndrome. Points treated are Dzya’dzi C4-C7, BL11, BL18, BL23, BL26, LV3, KI3, SP6, GB34, L7, LI4, ST36, SJ5. Results: Chinese massage and acupuncture decrease significantly both neck pain in rest and shoulder pain in AROM in patients with chronic neck pain syndrome, but for statistic comparison between the two methods it’s necessary the number of tested patients or the number of procedures to be increased. Conclusion: Chinese massage and acupuncture are effective approach for fast pain relief and it can improve the recovery of normal functional status in patients with neck pain syndrome.
