Abstract des Autors

Der Eisenbahnersport in Deutschland verfugte auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Entwicklung über mehrere hunderttausend Mitglieder. Der vorliegende Aufsatz untersucht seine Entstehung und Ausbreitung in der Weimarer Republik, seine staatsdirigistische Umgestaltung während der nationalsozialistischen Herrschaft, seine Neuformierung in beiden deutschen Staaten nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg sowie seine Auflösung nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung und der Privatisierung der Bahn. Im Vordergrund stehen der Umfang und die vorherrschenden Organisationsformen des Eisenbahnersports, das sich wandelnde Unternehmens- und sozialpolitische Interesse an seiner Förderung sowie die Kontinuitäten und Brüche in seiner Entwicklung von den Anfängen bis hin in die 1990er Jahre. Grundlage sind Archivbestände sowie die Periodika und andere Veröffentlichungen des Eisenbahnersports.

Abstract des Autors

The railway sports movement in Germany consisted of hundreds of thousands members at the peak of its development. This article describes and analyses the formation and development of railway sports in the Weimar Republic, its state-funded and controlled transformation in NS-Germany, its reorganization after the Second World War in the Federal Republic of Germany and in the German Democratic Republic, as well as the elimination of railway sports structures after the German reunification and the privatization of the railway. The analysis focuses on the quantity and also the different organizational forms of railway sports, the changing socio-political interests funding the railway sports movement, and its position and significance as part of German sport as a whole. Furthermore, it elaborates the specific characteristics of rail¬way sports as well as the continuities and discontinuities in its development from the 1920s right up to German reunification. The analysis is based on archive sources, periodicals and publications of the railway sports movement.

Le sport des cheminots en Allemagne totalisait à l’apogée de son développement plusieurs centaines de milliers de membres. Le présent article en examine la naissance et le développement pendant la République de Weimar, son émergence et ses transformations par l’état pendant le régime nazi, sa nouvelle organisation en Allemagne de l’Ouest et en Allemagne de l’Est, puis sa dissolution après la réunification et la privatisation de la Deutsche Bahn. Le texte analyse l’ampleur et les formes prépondérantes de l’organisation du sport des cheminots puis l’intérêt socio-politique pour son développement ainsi que sa place dans le mouvement sportif en Allemagne. L’analyse identifie les caractéristiques spécifiques de ce sport ainsi que les continuités et les ruptures dans son développement, de la République de Weimar jusqu’à l’Allemagne réunifiée. Cette recherche se base sur des documents d’archives, des périodiques et les publications du mouvement du sport des cheminots.
