Abstract des Autors

In 2006, the “German Sports Confederation” （Deutscher Sportbund） and the “National Olympic Committee for Germany” （Nationales Olympisches Komitee für Deutschland） merged, and the “German Olympic Sports Confederation” （Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund/DOSB） became the umbrella sport organisation in Germany. In this paper, the main goals of this merging process, some historical developments, as well as current structures and issues will be discussed with a focus on the relations between the DOSB and disability sport organisations, in particular the “German Disability Sport Organisation”（ Deutscher Behindertensportverband）, which also serves as the “National Paralympic Committee Germany ” （Nationales Paralympisches Komitee）.
