Abstract des Autors

This book contains the proceedings of the 2nd International Congress on Sports Sciences Research and Technology Support (icSPORTS 2014). icSPORTS 2014 is sponsored by INSTICC (Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication). icSPORTS has the institutional sponsorship of University of Lisbon (Faculty of Human Kinetics), the Olympic Committee of Portugal and the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. icSPORTS is also held in cooperation with the European College of Sport Science (ECSS); European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP); International Association of Computer Science in Sport (IACSS); Società Italiana delle Scienze Motorie e Sportive; European Federation of Sport Psychology; Societa’ Italiana Di Anatomia; IASK - International Association of Sport Kinetics; European Association for Sport Management. icSPORTS 2014 has also as R&D Groups partners the following projects: BLINDTRACK (Guiding system for visually impaired for individual running on the track) and REPOPA (REsearch into POlicy to enhance Physical Activity). The Congress Technical Program includes oral presentations (full papers, short papers, and extended abstracts) and poster presentations, organized in four simultaneous tracks: “Signal Processing and Motor Behavior”; “Sports Medicine and Support Technology”, “Health, Sports Performance and Support Technology” and “Computer Systems in Sports”. All full papers but also short papers are included in this book of proceedings. The congress includes also several thematic sessions organized by specialized researchers: Performance Analysis in Soccer: How does Technology Challenge Current Practices? – 2nd Edition (PerSoccer) and Innovation Society through Sport (InnovSport). A major aspect of the program is the inclusion of a set of four plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely: Luis Paulo Reis (University of Minho, Portugal); Peter Federolf (Norwegian University for Science and Technology, Norway); Antoine Nordez, (University of Nantes, France) and Hermano Igo Krebs (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States). icSPORTS received 131 submissions from 37 countries, in all continents, of which 11,5% were presented as full papers.. To evaluate each submission, a blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in icSPORTS topic areas. A short list of papers presented at the congress will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in the Sports Technology Journal by Taylor & Francis and by Springer in a CCIS Series book. All papers presented at this congress will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library. Congresses are also meeting places where collaborative projects can emerge from social contacts amongst the participants. Therefore, in order to promote the development of research and professional networks, the congress includes in its social program a Congress Social Event & Banquet in the evening of October 25. We would like to express our thanks to all participants. First of all to the authors, whose quality work is the essence of this congress; secondly to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the secretariat: organizing a congress of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable team. We wish you all an inspiring congress and an unforgettable stay in the lovely region of Rome, Italy. We hope to meet you again next year in Lisbon for icSPORTS 2015, details of which will soon be available at http://www.icsports.org.
