Abstract des Autors

Beyond distinct physiological and/or technical capabilities associated with cross-country skiing, shooting accuracy together with a minimization of time spent at the firing line positively affect competition outcome in biathlon (Hoffman et al., 1992). Particularly in the standing position postural stability is generally considered to represent an essential performance determining factor in this winter sport, and, therefore, the improvement of balance is one of the main goals within specific training programs (Sattlecker et al., 2014). The aim of the current exploratory research project was to test experienced biathletes of different performance squads while standing shooting at rest and after physical exercise and to evaluate resultant center of pressure patterns by employing "nonlinear" assessment techniques.
