abstract	Eine der Aufgaben des Bundesinstituts für Sportwissenschaft (BISp) ist die Initiierung, Förderung und Koordinierung von Forschungsvorhaben, die zur Klärung von Forschungsfragen im Bereich der Sportentwicklung beitragen, die für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland als Ganzes von Bedeutung sind. So richten sich etwa die beiden langjährigen Forschungsvorhaben „Sportentwicklungsberichte“ und „Sportsatellitenkonto“ an sportpolitische Entscheidungsträger auf staatlicher Ebene und auf Verbandsseite. Verf. skizziert in diesem Beitrag sowohl die Vorzüge und Verdienste dieser beiden Projekte, als auch Probleme und Kritikpunkte, die sich zum einen auf die Art der Ergebnisvermittlung, zum anderen auf methodische Aspekte beziehen.
