Abstract
Baseball is a game that requires the muscles to work in concert with one another to produce highly skilled and complex movements. To make the game even more difficult, a ball is rarely hit directly at a player in a game situation. For this reason, players must be able to start, stop, and change directions rapidly. This requires them to accelerate, decelerate, and dynamically stabilize their bodies through multiple planes and ranges of motion. Therefore, lateral speed and agility (LSA) is critical in order to perform successfully and avoid injury. Einleitung
