Abstract

The balance between stress and recovery is a central focus in sport psychology, especially in the peak-performance field. Athletes are challenged several times in the season in presenting themselves in competitions to reach their best performance. A good balanced stress and recovery state should be a good pre-competition state, especially before important competitions like in the Olympic Games. The aim this paper is to introduce a diagnostic tool to measure the stress-recovery balance (REST-Q) and to present first data of divers, reporting about their stress-recovery-balance with regard to a following competition.
