Abstract
In most team-based sports athletes must be able to generate explosive muscular forces to accelerate, change directions, and then re-accelerate over relatively short distances. Therefore, to be successful, acceleration rather than maximal velocity is likely a greater predictor of success in these sports. This article will explore some of the techniques commonly used to improve an athlete’s ability to accelerate by improving force, velocity, and the combination of these 2 elements. Verf.-Referat
