| abstract |
The main aim of the work is to find out the relationships between somatic parameters and indicators of motor performance of children aged 10–12 from the Liberec region. The selected representative samples consisted of 131 boys and 132 girls, who went through an empiric examination containing seven motor tests (progressive aerobic cardiovascular endurance run, push-up, curl-up, trunk lift, back-saver sit and reach, standing broad jump and shuttle run 4 x 10 m) and measurement of basic somatic characteristics (body height, body weight and skinfolds thickness). The investigation showed negative relationship of a large amount of body fat as a significant somatic factor on physical fitness in a current young population, particularly in components of endurance ability and explosive strength of the lower extremities. There was no significant relation of the somatic characteristics in indicators of strengthendurance abilities and flexibility of trunk extensors. The research showed significant deficiencies in health-related fitness level (especially endurance abilities) among current population of school children. For this reason it is necessary to place more emphasis on the aerobic physical activity during physical education lessons at schools and during physical activities in leisure time. Verf.-Referat |
