Abstract
The sport properly fulfils its social and educational function, if the formal principles and rules correspond to general norms who watches respecting the rules in sport rivalry, is crucial. However, the author argues that the activity of a sport referee is polyfunctional: supervising, preventing, ordering and educational. In the paper the listed functions were described in details.
