Abstract

Changes in the way of wrestling enforce changes of its structure, and thus the nature of the competitor’s physical effort. This problem is still present and requires a deeper analysis of sambo wrestlers’ physical fitness. Sports activities, physical loads, their extent, duration, intensity and recovery phase between the multiple loads or individual training events for the growing organism should differ, as compared to the adult athletes. Exercise stress during self-defence wrestling match consists of intensive activation of anaerobic and mixed aerobic-anaerobic bio-energetic source. The aim of this study was to determine the changes in level of selected indicators of lower limb anaerobic capacity in sambo wrestlers. The tests were carried out two times at intervals of one year and on the same group of competitors at the beginning of the second preparatory and competition period for 2006, 2007, 2008. 2006 years they were 15, 2007 – 16 and 2008 they had 17 years. Assessment of the anaerobic capacity of the lower limbs (in alactic anaerobic energy output) was performed based on the Wingate test on a Monark 847 E cycloergometer, determining the following parameters: maximal power output (W/kg), total work output performed by the competitor during the test (J/kg) as well as a time to attain maximal power output and a time to sustain maximal power output (s). The concentration of lactate (LA) was measured calorimetrically by dr Lange reagents kit in rest and 3 min after Wingate test. It was found that the level of the assessed parameters of lower limbs anaerobic capacity in sambo wrestlers increased along with age and training experience. The greatest improvements in wrestlers aged 15 to 17 years were noted in maximal power output. The high indicators of variability in the time to attain and sustain of maximal power output (s), show that there are large reserves of anaerobic capacity of the lower limbs of the tested wrestlers, regardless of the level of their sporting advancement. Teenagers’ sports training sessions, loads and methods represent an actual biologic scientific problem, demanding for deeper analysis, specification of training session’s contents and physiologic substantiation of methods applied.
