Abstract des Autors

The primary purpose of this study was to examine the reliability of WPV (within-participant variability) scores across days for a functional movement task, considering the influence of the number of trials and location of trial blocks (early, middle, late) sampled to develop the metric. A secondary purpose was to describe the range in magnitude of WPV across individuals in the sample. Because the large forces experienced during many fitness activities are presumed to contribute to injury formation (Dufek & Bates, 1991; Grimston & Zernicke, 1993; Nigg, 1995), we opted to analyze the WPV characteristics of the peak reaction force during drop landing, an activity that exposes performers to large, rapidly applied loads.
