Abstract
The article presents the results of psychological examination of top Slovak tennis players. The sample comprised 21 men and 14 women, i.e. total 35 tennis players placed within the first 100 in the Slovak ranking. The SERP test appeared appropriate for athlete´s emotional features diagnosis. The observed tennis players were characterised by high levels of assertiveness, self-confidence, self-reliance and by very good self-discipline in hard situations. The direct influence of assertiveness and sensitivemess on their performance was statistically significant. The author recommends to pay attention to the fear control in tennis-player´s personality.
