Abstract

Training monitoring is a purposeful process performed with the aim to increase the effective-ness of the training guidance. The training monitoring is founded on recording of changes on an athlete during various stages of the training or under the influence of main elements of sport activities (training session, competition, microcycle of training). The purpose for training moni-toring is founded on necessity (1) to have feed-back information on the actual training effects, (2) to know that the training design is adequate at a concrete stage for a concrete athlete, (3) to recognize the pattern of adaptational possibilities of athlete. The biochemical monitoring can be considered as a complex of means for effective guidance of training with the aid of information founded on biochemical analysis (determination of metabolites, substrates, hormones and electrolytes in body fluids, as well as assessment of hemotological and immunological pa-rameters). The main principle of the design of training monitoring is minimum testing - maxi-mum reliable information. The alternative principle more testing - more information is not ac-ceptable because the monitoring is not a thing-in-itself but a mean to help trainers. The testing must not miss the training. It must not to overload the athlete. Every test or measurement has been chosen as the best one among a number of other possibilities. Verf.-Referat
