Abstract des Autors
Coaches are often involved in fund-raising projects to provide a strength-training facility for their athletes. It is becoming more common for people to recognize the value of strength and conditioning for everyone. With this concept in mind, the new Seymour Community Fitness Center was developed to serve youth through adults. The 4,500-sq ft facility features free weights, selectorized machines, and cardiovascular equipment. It is part of an athletic addition to Seymour High School that includes a 26,000-sq ft field house and aquatic center. The purpose of this article was to present a model showing how the community and school worked together to meet the needs of everyone. Verf.-Referat
