Abstract des Autors
Stretching techniques using the principles of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) are designed to maximize improvements in flexibility. Specific techniques have been developed to take advantage of the body's inhibitory reflexes in order to improve muscular relaxation. This muscular relaxation allows a greater stretch magnitude during stretch training, which should result in superior gains in flexibility. These techniques have been discussed in a number of textbooks but are not consistently presented. There techniques are typically presented; however, these presentations differ slightly, and in some occasions, the same names are used for different techniques and different names used for the same technique. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to present the most common PNF stretching techniques with appropriate terminology, which will provide clarity and consistency. Verf.-Referat
