Abstract des Autors
A sprained ankle is often diagnosed on an athletic child following a traumatism in inversion or varus. This diagnosis is not always erroneous but it must be contemplated carefully with a meticulous clinical examination and a comparative X-ray check-up. The clinical examination is much more difficult to carry out on a child than on a teenager or an adult. Therefore it must be particularly meticulous. The X-ray check-up must be comparative. It seems to be indispensable a priori in this context although children seem now to be concerned by the rules of Ottawa. The treatment of a sprained ankle must be rigorous in the child. It is essentially based on immobilization in a boot made of plaster or resin for 3 to 6 weeks. Verf.-Referat
