Abstract des Autors
The purpose of this chapter is to acquaint the reader with today's bicycle. There have been many changes in the basic bicycle design. The most notable changes have occurred in frame materials, drivetrain components, such as the addition of suspension, and construction methods. This chapter will discuss the anatomy of a bicycle, bicycle types, materials, and construction methods used in bicycle design so that the reader may understand basic bicycle components and be aware of the many innovations taking place in the bicycling industry.
