Abstract
The growing popularity of in-line skating is accompanied by an explosive increase in the number of related accidents. A number of 104 patients were the subject of study. Injury of the upper extremity is frequent, but the whole body is at risk. Many patients present with fractures and severe injury may occur. This may result in hospitalisation and considerable absence through illness. All distal forearm fractures occurred in patients without wrist guards. Propagation of safety gear is the most important measure to prevent injury. Verf.-Referat
