Abstract des Autors

Soccer training and match play can place heavy strain on biological systems which need time to recover before players can perform again to their true capabilities. Energy stores may be severely reduced, body water pools are decreased and players may suffer different forms of muscle damage. Attention must be given to restoration of energy and fluid levels as soon as possible post-exercise. There is a need too to regulate training loads between games so that a balance is achieved between maintaining training stimuli and optimizing preparation for competition. Life-style factors are relevant in attaining this balance. Verf.-Referat
